About ALNEDA

The Alabama Network for Eating Disorders Awareness (ALNEDA) is an evolving volunteer network made up of therapists, educators, health professionals, and individuals interested in creating a statewide program for eating disorder awareness.

Founded in October, 2004, ALNEDA serves anyone interested in learning more about eating disorder awareness, treatment, and prevention. ALNEDA is registered as a non-profit organization with the state of Alabama.

Our Goals

ALNEDA's aim is to serve as a contact point for information about eating disorders and offer services such as: patient and parent support groups, an active speakers' bureau, an information resource library, and a health care professionals directory.

We hope to accomplish these goals through educating patients, families, professionals, and the community about eating disorders, increasing the availability of training opportunities and treatment resources for those affected by eating disorders, and encouraging community-based outreach to promote prevention.

Our Meetings

ALNEDA currently does not have any meetings scheduled. ALNEDA usually meets the second Tuesday of each month from 11:30 am.

Meetings are usually held at the Sober Living By The Sea Alumni House in the Five Points Area. The house is in the old Black and White Building down from Cobb Lane. Park at Cobb Lane parking lot, and walk down the sidewalk on 20th Street to 1312 20th Street.

How You Can Help

ALNEDA is always looking for participants willing to spread awareness, attend a meeting, and volunteer at events. If you have a website, please consider linking to us.
